Flutterby Wednesday Card

This card took a lot more time to create than I expected. I had the design all thought out, but had to go to plan "B". After I stamped the Whisper White mat, I added a velum piece the same size. I was going to sew the mats together so there would be no adhesive showing. I took out my Janome and thank goodness I tried sewing on scraps. It was making the most horrible clunking noise I've ever heard. I worked with the tension, changed needles, re-threaded it, and everything else I could think of. It was working okay so I started on my project and it just became a tangled mess. By that time I had stitch holes that had to be covered up. I wasn't planning on adding the punched photo corners, but I didn't want to start over........so I just went with it. I'm afraid my Janome is sick :(

The butterflies and sentiment are from the Stampin' Up! Flight of the Butterfly set. The images were stamped with Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry inks, and the sentiment with Soft Suede. The cardstock pieces are also Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. (Ribbon also). I punched out the butterflies with the SU punch that matches the stamp set. In spite of the set backs, I enjoyed my stamping session this afternoon. That's what it's all about!
