My First Easel Card

I've been wanting to make an easel card for a while now, but was a bit intimidated by them. I shouldn't have been because they are really "doable". I followed the video tutorial from Dawn's Blog, as well as her Scallop Punch tutorial...she makes everything look so easy.

I made this card for my daughter's birthday coming in March. She's planning a December wedding and has been thinking about using the beautiful jewel tones that are in peacock feathers. The peacock is from the Very Thankful Set, but has the words thank you on it. Because I wanted to use the Happy Birthday from the new Vintage Labels Set, I had to color the peacock with my black Stampin' Write Marker and omit the words. The border on the bottom comes from the Pendant Park Set. I colored the spots with the matching marker, then added glitter. It still needed something so I added Swarofski Crystals in the corner. I used both the new Scallop Trim Border and Corner Punches by following Dawn's tutorial. The CS is Whisper White, Black, and Bermuda Bay. This card is very much like one I made a few months ago with the Very Thankful Set.

All in all, I'm pleased with my first easel card. If you haven't made one yet, try it.

Have a great evening!
