Three Quick Mini Slimline Cards with Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper

Sometimes the simplest cards are the most fun to make! Today I’m sharing three Mini Slimline Cards I created using the bright and colorful Painted Illusions 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, the February Product of the Month. The paper pack is still available, and the bold patterns make it perfect for quick cards.

My Mini Slimline cards measure 2 3/4" x 5 1/2", and they are incredibly fast to create.

How to Make Three Card Bases Fast

You can make three card bases in a flash from a single sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock:

1. Score the cardstock at 5 1/2" on the long side.

2. Cut three strips that are 2 3/4" wide.

3. Fold each strip on the score line to create three Mini Slimline cards.

You’ll only have a tiny scrap left, which makes this a great way to maximize your cardstock!

Designer Paper Layers

For each card I used two pieces of Designer Series Paper measuring:

2 1/2" x 5 1/4"

• One layer on the front of the card

• One layer on the inside

This little extra detail on the inside really finishes the card nicely.

Decorating the Cards

One of my favorite things about these Mini Slimline cards is that they are perfect for using up leftover pieces from other projects. I often add:

• Extra sentiments

• Labels

• Die cuts

• Embellishments

Since the card front is smaller, even tiny pieces look great and nothing goes to waste.

These cards can be decorated for any season or any occasion, making them wonderful to keep on hand.

Envelope Options

Another great thing about this size is that the cards fit several different envelopes:

• A2 Medium Envelope

• #15 Coin Envelope

• Standard letter-size envelope
