Card Chaos - October 12th - 15 Minute Stripes Challenge With Winterly Birds

This week I joined my Craft Roulette friend Irene Smith for her fun YouTube show, Card Chaos, which airs Monday evenings at 6pm Central. The challenge? Create a card in just 15 minutes using the weekly theme—this time, it was stripes!

I decided to keep my card clean and simple. I started with a Thick Basic White card base measuring 7 ½" x 5 ½", scored at 3 ¼". The striped paper comes from the beautiful Winterly Birds Designer Series Paper—the front panel is 5 ¼" x 3", and the right side strip is 1" x 5 ¼".

For the focal point, I used a White die-cut circle from the retired Spotlight on Nature die set. The sentiment, stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink, is from last month’s Fall For Toile Paper Pumpkin kit. I finished the design with a charming Robin (fussy cut from Winterly Birds DSP) and added Fir branches and Pine Cones from the Branching Out dies.

It took me just under 15 minutes—having the Robin pre-cut definitely helped!

Why not take the challenge yourself? Set a timer and see if you can create a card in 15 minutes or less. It’s a great way to stretch your creativity and have a little fun!

This week’s project was a Celebration Card, and I turned mine into a Christmas card! The parameters were:

✨ Project: Celebration Card (mine’s Christmas!)
🎨 Colors: On The Ground – I used browns, greens, reds, and black to capture trees and birds on the ground.
🌲 Element: Goes Well Together – Trees and birds are the perfect pair!
🧱 Random: Blocks – My sentiment from the Jolly Holly Stamp Set and bird from the Nests of Winter DSP are both mounted on “blocks” using the two largest squares from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

The tree branches and pine cones come from the Branching Out Dies, and if you look closely, you’ll see a bit of Wink of Stella shimmer on the berries. It’s my favorite little touch of magic! ✨

Craft Roulette Episode #275 – ATC Christmas Card with Peace On Earth Bundle

I had so much fun creating this card for Craft Roulette Episode #275! This week’s parameters really stretched my creativity—in the best way possible. I love how it turned out and can’t wait to share the details with you!

My card fulfills all four of this week’s fun parameters:

✅ Card Project with Starry Night Colors

I used the gorgeous Everyday Skies 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper to create both the background and the ATC panel, giving it a perfect blend of deep blues and dreamy skies—ideal for the "Starry Night" color palette.

✅ Random White Dots

The sky pattern in the DSP naturally includes soft, white speckles that mimic random white stars—which made this part super easy!

✅ “Down” Element

I interpreted "down" as a beautiful die-cut dove from the Peace On Earth Bundle—new from Stampin’ Up! and available this September! The dove’s downward flight across the starry sky ties the whole theme together.

I used several elements from the Peace On Earth Suite:

• Dove die-cut for the “down” element

• Star accents to enhance the celestial theme

• Sentiment from the same set, perfect for Christmas

This suite will be officially released in September 2025, but I was lucky enough to pre-order it early as part of the Creativity Now event exclusive to Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. It's going to be a holiday favorite for sure!

SNOWMAN SEASON CHRISTMAS CARDS

I'm finishing off my Christmas cards for the season. I created these with the Snowman Season stamp set. First I stamped the snowman image on a piece of Shimmery White using Memento Ink. I cut it out with an oval from the Stitched Shapes set. I outlined the snowmen using the Light Pool Party Blend. I used Dark Pumpkin Pie for the noses, and Light Smokey Slate for the rocks.

The card base is Seaside Spray. I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment using the same color ink pad on top. The Plaid Tidings paper that's added at the bottom is on sale right now. Only while supplies last. I added a Square Vellum Doily to the middle, then layered the oval on Stampin' Dimensionals. I finished them off with some bling, and a piece of twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack. They were easy to make, and came out real cute.

MERRY MOOSE CHRISTMAS CARDS (SHEET LOAD OF CARDS NOVEMBER 2020)

Hello, and welcome! I made six cards using the fabulous Merry Moose Stamp Set, and matching Moose Punch. I followed a template by Alicia on her You Tube Channel, Call Me Crafty Al. This one is the November 2020 Sheet Load Of Cards. They came together fairly quickly. You just cut the card layers according to her directions, and can either make all six, or just one. Her cutting instructions called for 6" x 6" designer papers. I used the 'Tis The Season Designer Series Paper Pack.

Toile Tidings Christmas Card

I have a lovely Christmas card for you today. It was inspired by another North Carolina Demonstrator, Linda Heller. I changed up a few things on my card to make it my own.

Although you probably can't see it on the designer paper layer, I embossed it with our Tufted Embossing Folder. It really makes a difference. The die cuts from the Christmas Cardinal Die set are layered on one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. I finished it off with some Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. 

I really like the sentiment inside. I used our largest Stitched Rectangle Die on Very Vanilla for the inside layer. It gives it such a nice look.
