Diorama Card with Sweet Old Friends

I had so much fun creating this sweet diorama card featuring the adorable characters from the Sweet Old Friends Bundle! I followed the diorama card tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers, but simplified the design a bit. Instead of adding as many layers as the tutorial shows, I stuck with just the front and back, which gives the card plenty of dimension while keeping it clean and simple. See that tutorial HERE.

For the window, I used the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies to create the opening. Behind the window, I added a piece of Hydrangea Hue Cardstock embossed with the 100 Acre Woods 3D Embossing Folder. I then used a Blender Brush to add more Hydrangea Hue ink over the embossed cardstock, bringing out the details and giving the background some extra depth.

The adorable characters from the Sweet Old Friends Bundle were stamped, colored with Stampin’ Blends, and layered around the scene. I especially love how they peek around the circular opening!

For the outside of the card, I used the Barely Blush from Gingham Gallery 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from the Sweet Words & Labels Bundle and was the perfect finishing touch for this card.

The Silly Old Bear products are part of the Online Exclusives collection in my Online Store. If you love these nostalgic little characters as much as I do, be sure to check them out!

I love how this card folds flat for mailing but opens into a dimensional little scene. It's such a fun way to make a handmade card feel extra special without making the construction overly complicated.

Happy stamping!

Easy Cut Away Birthday Card with Glow of Harvest DSP

I love a card design that looks elegant but is actually easy to make—and this Easy Cut Away Card is definitely a game changer!

For this card, I used a beautiful piece of the August Product of the Month, Glow of Harvest 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper. This paper has a gorgeous shimmer that adds just the right amount of elegance to a card.

And here’s a great deal: You can get the Glow of Harvest DSP for just $5 with a $75 order (before tax, shipping, and discounts) during August!

A Simple Card with Lots of Details

My card base is Crumb Cake Cardstock, with a strip of Pecan Pie Cardstock across the bottom. I embossed the Pecan Pie layer using the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder, which will be available September 1st when the new Stampin’ Up! catalog goes live. I love the texture it adds!

For the focal point, I layered labels from the Sweet Words & Labels Dies and added my birthday sentiment from the Scalloped Blooms Stamp Set.

To finish the card, I fussy cut the leaves and acorns directly from the Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper and added them around the sentiment. The shimmer in the paper really makes those little details stand out.

I think this design would also make a beautiful masculine card. Just change the sentiment and you've got a great card for a birthday, thank-you, or other occasion.

The Easy Cut Away Card

This card is so much easier to make than it looks! In fact, I have an older YouTube video titled “Easy Cut Away Cards”that shows you how to make one of these cards step by step.

If you haven't seen it yet, head over to my YouTube channel and check it out. And while you're there, I'd love for you to subscribe, like, comment, and share!

I would love to see what you create with this easy card design. Give an Easy Cut Away Card a try and put your own creative spin on it!

A Little Glow of Harvest for Fall

I’m getting a jump on my Fall cardmaking with this beautiful Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper, and it truly lives up to its name! The paper has a lovely shimmer that adds just a little extra glow to those gorgeous Fall colors.

Glow of Harvest is the August Product of the Month. When your order reaches $75, you can add this special DSP for just $5. You’ll receive 12 sheets—2 each of 6 beautiful designs. The paper is one-sided, so you can enjoy those pretty patterns without worrying about choosing which side to use.

For this card, I used just a little bit of one of the designs to create a Double Z Fold Card. Sometimes a small piece of beautiful DSP is all you need to make a big impact!

The Details

The card base is Golden Glow Cardstock, and I used the Scalloped Blooms Bundle for the dies and sentiment. I also added three gorgeous leaves from the Lustrous Leaves Hot Foil Dies for a little extra Fall foliage.

Here are the measurements:

  • Card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
  • Score card base at: 2 1/8" and 4 1/4"
  • Z-fold strip: 8 1/2" x 1"
  • Score strip at: 2 1/4", 4 1/4", and 6 1/4"

This is such an easy and fun Fun Fold to put together, and I love how it gives the card a little more dimension when it opens.

Want to Make One?

I’ll be sharing a YouTube video later this week showing you exactly how I put this Double Z Fold Card together. Be sure to check back so you can see just how easy this Fun Fold really is!

Double Your Rewards Points!

And here’s another reason to shop August 19–21!

Craft Roulette Episode 332 – A Country Card with a Little Pooh Magic

Craft Roulette is always a fun challenge because you never quite know where the creative journey will take you! For Episode 332, the project was a Square Card, and I created a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" card featuring some adorable friends from the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper.

This week's parameters were Project – Square Card, Colors – Excited, Element – Country, and Random – Frame(s).Here's how I interpreted them!

The Colors – Excited!

The colors for this challenge were Hydrangea Hue, Golden Glow, and Mossy Meadow. These colors immediately made me think of my favorite season—Fall! There is something about those rich, beautiful colors together that feels exciting to me.

I started with a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock measuring 8 1/2" x 4 1/4", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4".

For the next layer, I used Hydrangea Hue Cardstock cut to 4" x 4". I embossed it with the 100 Acre Woods Embossing Folder and then used a blending brush to add more Hydrangea Hue ink over the embossed design. This little bit of extra ink really helps bring out the details and adds some depth to the background.

The Element – Country

When I think of "country," I immediately think of Pooh and his friends living in the country. That made the Silly Old Bear DSP a perfect choice!

And, of course, the 100 Acre Woods Embossing Folder fits the country theme perfectly. It gives the background that wonderful woodland feel that reminds me of the Hundred Acre Wood.

I used the coordinating Sweet Words & Labels Dies to cut out my focal image, along with the leaves and acorn.

The main image is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals, giving it some extra dimension and making it stand out from the embossed background.

The Random Element – Frame(s)

The random element was Frame(s), and I had fun finding more than one way to incorporate that requirement!

My focal image already has a frame around it, so that was an easy connection. But I also created a frame around my sentiment using my Golden Glow Shimmer Brush.

It's always fun when a random element gives you a chance to look at your supplies in a different way!

Finishing Touches

I added the pretty Mossy Meadow Gingham Ribbon, which I absolutely love with these colors. Just a little heads-up—this ribbon won't be available until September 1st, when the new catalog debuts.

I finished the card with the 2026–2028 In Color Dots for a little extra sparkle and detail.

And there's another thing I really love about this design—it fits inside a regular A2 envelope! Even though it's a square card, the 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" size makes mailing it easy.

I have a short video on Youtube for you to watch:

Double Vision Card | Sending Sunshine Instagram Hop

There’s something special about sending a little sunshine to someone who could use it! ☀️ I created this Double Vision Card for the Sending Sunshine Instagram Hop, where our goal each month is to share positive and encouraging messages and inspire others to reach out.

Sometimes a simple smile, compliment, check-in, helping hand, or encouraging message can make someone’s day. And just as importantly, we hope to remind you to take care of yourself—you are worth it! ๐Ÿ’›

Creating the Double Vision Card

For my card, I used the beautiful Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper, which will be available in the new catalog beginning September 1st. I love how the pattern does all the work of creating a cheerful focal point!

The sentiment comes from another upcoming new product, Painted Pumpkins. I stamped it onto the smallest die from the Everyday Arches Dies.

The Double Vision technique is surprisingly easy!

  1. Cut your Designer Series Paper into ½-inch strips.
  2. Keep the strips in their original order so you can easily put the design back together.
  3. Adhere the first strip directly to your card layer.
  4. Raise every other strip to create the “double vision” effect.

I used Foam Adhesive Strips to pop up the alternating strips. They made this technique much easier than trying to add several individual Stampin’ Dimensionals to each strip.

I love how this simple technique gives Designer Series Paper a whole new look!

Whether you send a handmade card, make a phone call, offer a compliment, or simply check in with someone, I hope this project inspires you to send a little sunshine today. ๐ŸŒป

Be sure to check out the other projects in the Sending Sunshine Instagram Hop for more positive messages and creative inspiration!

Supplies:
• Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper — available September 1
• Painted Pumpkins — upcoming product
• Everyday Arches Dies
• Foam Adhesive Strips
• Cardstock and coordinating Stampin’ Up! supplies

Happy Stamping,

August 2026 Sheetload of Cards: 8 Beautiful Handmade Cards

I love a good card-making challenge, especially when it helps me create multiple cards from my supplies! This month, I followed the August 2026 Sheetload of Cards from Call Me Crafty Al and created 8 handmade cards using the cutting guide and measurements provided.

Alicia from Call Me Crafty Al releases a free printable on the first of each month with the cutting guide and measurements needed to create that month's cards. The following day, she shares a video showing how she puts the cards together. You can access the free printable by following the instructions in her YouTube video.

For my August cards, I used:

  • Bloom Boutique Specialty Designer Series Paper
  • Hydrangea Hue Card Stock
  • Thick Basic White Card Stock
  • Scalloped Blooms Bundle
  • 2026–2028 In Color Butterflies

I love how the coordinating patterned paper and Hydrangea Hue cardstock make these cards come together so beautifully. The Scalloped Blooms Bundle adds a pretty floral touch, while the 2026–2028 In Color Butterflies add just the right amount of embellishment.

One of my favorite things about this Sheetload is that the finished cards are square, yet they fit into a standard A2-size envelope, making them easy to mail without needing a specialty envelope.

Eight Cards from One Sheetload

Following Alicia's cutting guide made it easy to create eight cards with a coordinated look while still giving each card its own personality. This is a great way to make a collection of cards for your stash—or to create several cards when you need multiples.

I hope these cards inspire you to give the August Sheetload a try and see what you can create with your favorite patterned papers and cardstock!

See All 8 Cards

I've created a YouTube video where you can see all eight cards in detail and take a closer look at the papers, colors, dies, and embellishments I used.

Craft Roulette Episode 331 – 4" X 8" Meant For You Ephemera Card

Craft Roulette Episode 331 was another fun challenge—and this time, the ever-popular May May Helms was the guest! I always enjoy seeing what everyone creates from the four random parameters.

For this episode, the Project was a 4" x 8" Card, which I believe is a Craft Roulette specialty. My finished card measures 4" x 8", making it quite a bit larger than the cards I usually make.

The Craft Roulette Parameters

๐ŸŽจ Colors – Excited

I think my bright pinks, yellows, and greens definitely qualify as excited colors! I used the cheerful colors from the Everyday Essentials Designer Series Paper, which were perfect for creating a bright and happy card.

๐Ÿ‹ Element – Cold or Chilly

What says cold and refreshing better than lemonade and watermelon? I used ephemera pieces featuring these summery treats to bring the "Cold or Chilly" prompt to life.

The sentiment from the Sweet Words & Labels Stamp Set was absolutely perfect for this card, too. I paired it with pieces from the Meant For You Ephemera Pack for some extra fun.

๐Ÿงต Random – Stitches

The Stitches prompt was an easy one to incorporate. The square dies and the sentiment banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies both have stitched borders, adding that little bit of texture and detail the card needed.

A BIG Card!

I'll admit—I wasn't thrilled about making such a large card! A 4" x 8" card is definitely outside my usual comfort zone, especially since I don't have an envelope that size.

But that's not really a problem because I can make one! ๐Ÿ˜Š

And that's one of the things I enjoy most about Craft Roulette. The prompts force me to think outside the box, try something different, and use supplies that might otherwise be sitting in my craft room waiting for their turn.

Join me on Youtube to see how breaking away from a standard size card is still FUNN!

Join the Fun!

If you haven't watched Craft Roulette, you should join us sometime! It's a fun challenge show that airs Friday evenings on YouTube at 6:10 Central Time.

I love seeing where the four random parameters take me each week. Sometimes the result is exactly what I imagined—and sometimes it takes me somewhere completely unexpected!

That's part of the fun of crafting. ๐Ÿ’•

Until next time, keep creating and have fun thinking outside the box!

Happy Stamping,
Jean
