DIY Tissue Box Covers with Designer Series Paper

I love finding projects that take beautiful Designer Series Paper and turn it into something useful—and this tissue box cover is definitely one of those projects!

For the first project, I used the August Product of the Month, Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper. The beautiful floral and autumn-inspired designs make this tissue box perfect for adding a little seasonal décor to your home.

I followed a tutorial posted on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page back in June by Anja Beckmann. I followed the cutting guides she provided, but I ran into a little problem: I ended up short on the particular paper design I wanted to use!

So, I had to get creative and make a different lid for my box. And I think it turned out beautifully!

Making the Lid

For my version of the lid, I started with a 6 9/16" x 6 9/16" square of Cajun Craze Cardstock.

I scored it at 1" on all four sides to create the lid.

For the Designer Series Paper, I used:

• 4 3/8" x 4 3/8" for the top
• Four pieces measuring 3/4" x 4 3/8" for the sides

I used an oval die to cut the opening in the center of the lid for the tissue to come through.

I actually love that I had to make a different lid because it shows that you can easily adapt the project when you don't have quite enough of your favorite DSP. Sometimes those little crafting surprises lead to something even better!

Make One for Any Season!

The best thing about this project is that you can use any Designer Series Paper to decorate your tissue box. Think Christmas, spring, birthdays, a baby shower, patriotic décor—or simply paper that matches your home.

You could make one for any season and any reason!

And because the box is covered with DSP, it's a great way to use some of those beautiful papers that you don't want to hide away in a drawer.
