This week’s Craft Roulette challenge was extra exciting because my submission features a sneak peek of the brand-new Scenic Coast Collection—coming soon in the Stampin’ Up! May–August Catalog launching May 5th! I had so much fun combining the challenge parameters with these gorgeous new products.
🎨 The Parameters
🧱 Project: Bridge Card
I always enjoy making bridge cards—they’re such a fun interactive fold—so this was a treat. I’ve created several over the years and even filmed a YouTube tutorial, so this structure felt like home!
🥗 Colors: Salad
This parameter was a blast. I interpreted a few “salad-inspired” colors:
- Orange – for carrot salad
- Blue – for blueberries sprinkled in a salad
- Pink – for those beautiful pink radishes
The Scenic Coast Designer Series Paper made it easy to pull these colors together naturally.
🔤 Element: Starts with J
For my “J” element, I added a jetty on the bridge panel—perfect for the little sailboat drifting between the card’s layers. It adds such a charming coastal touch!
🔄 Random: Swipe(s)/Swiping
I used pink ink and gently swiped it around the edges of the sentiment panel on the back of the card. It adds soft color and ties in beautifully with the pink radish tones.
🛠️ Card Measurements & Details
- Card Base: Blueberry Bushel – 4 ¼" x 8"
- Scored at 1 ¼", 2 ½", 5 ½", and 6 ¾"
- Side Panels: Scenic Coast DSP – 1" x 4" (two pieces)
- Center Panel: Scenic Coast DSP – 2 ¾" x 4"
- Back Panel: Basic White – 2 ¾" x 4"
- Bridge Piece:
- Blueberry Bushel – 5 ½" x 1 ¼"
- Scenic Coast DSP – 5 ¼" x 1"
When folded flat, the card fits perfectly into a standard A2 envelope—always a win for interactive cards!
🌅 Final Thoughts
I absolutely love how this card turned out. The Scenic Coast Collection is stunning, and combining it with the Craft Roulette parameters made this week’s project even more memorable. I can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on this suite when the new catalog launches!
