MATCHBOOK CARDS

Hello, and welcome! I created this Matchbook Fold Card for Episode #101 of Craft Roulette. It is live on You Tube every Friday evening at 6:30 Central Time. The host, Mary Gunn has a guest crafter each week. She spins her Roulette type wheel to choose four different elements: Project, Color, Element, and Random. This week the wheel landed on: Matchbook Card, 3 Pastels, Quilts, and Diagonal Lines.

I stamped the image from the In The Moment stamp set on a  2 7/8" x 2 7/8" piece of Thick Basic White Card Stock. I also stamped it on scraps of a piece of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper pack that looks like a quilt or blanket. I colored the image with matching Stampin' Blends. After fussy cutting the parts of the blanket, I glued them on the image panel. This process is called Paper Piecing. The focal image is on a 4" x 4" Basic Black layer, then popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals onto the card base. The two Petal Pink elements on the sides are negative images from our Slimline Card Die. I added a 3/4" x 4" piece of matching In Good Taste paper to the bottom flap. It's finished off with a heart, and two leaves from the Abstract Beauty Ephemera Pack. I brushed the heart with Wink Of Stella to give the heart some sparkle.

Matchbook Cards can be made in several sizes. Check out Pinterest, and You Tube for specific tutorials. This Pool Party card base is 4 1/4" x 11". It is scored at 1", and 6 1/4".  You need to secure the bottom fold so the top can slip down into it. Most of time, tutorials show the bottom being stapled into place. I chose to glue mine down right along the fold line. I made another card using the same measurements. It's on a Petal Pink Card base, and I used the Flowing Flowers Stamp Set.

Since I already had the supplies out, I made a smaller version Matchbook Card. The base is the same designer series paper, In Good Taste. It measures 3 1/2" x 8 1/2". Score 1" from the bottom, place the top of the card under the flap, then fold with a bone folder. The sentiment, and flowers are from the Flowing Flowers set, and cut out with a Layering Circles Die. It is mounted on a punched out a piece of green Vellum using the Label Me Lovely Punch. The heart, and leaves were leftovers in my stash. Inside, there is a piece of Basic White measuring 3 1/4" x 3 1/4".

Thank you for doing me today!
