Craft Roulette Episode 284 – Z Fold Panel Birthday Card

For Craft Roulette, Episode 284, the wheel spun up some fun parameters, and I couldn’t resist making a cheerful Z Fold Panel Card! Here’s how the challenge shaped up for me:

🎑 The Parameters

  • Project: Fun Fold → I chose a Z Fold Panel Card

  • Colors: Birthday Party → I went with pink and purple for a feminine birthday theme

  • Element: Maggie Smith → Inspired by her role in The Secret Garden, I used a Floral Charm design to represent the beautiful garden scenes

  • Random: Spiral → My sentiment has spirals all around it for a playful touch

🎨 Card Details

  • Base: 4 1/4" x 11" Blackberry Bliss, scored at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"

  • Designer Paper Layers (Floral Charm): 4" x 2 1/2" and 4" x 5 1/4"

  • Front Panel: 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" Blackberry Bliss, embossed with the retired Dots folder, finished with a touch of Iridescent Ribbon

  • Sentiment (front): 2" circle of Bubble Bath, stamped in Blackberry Bliss with a spiral-accented greeting

  • Inside Layers: 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" Blackberry Bliss with a 2" x 3" Bubble Bath panel stamped using the Branching Out stamp set

This fold gives such a fun surprise when the card opens, and the pink and purple garden theme made it perfect for a birthday celebration. πŸŒΈπŸŽ‚

πŸ“Ί Join the Fun!

Craft Roulette goes live every Friday at 7:10pm Central on YouTube. You never know what the wheel will spin, and it’s always exciting to see how everyone interprets the parameters.

Spooky Sweet Panel Card For Card Chaos Episode 9

Panel Card for Card Chaos, Episode 9 πŸŽƒ✨

I had so much fun playing along with Card Chaos, Episode 9! This creative (and slightly chaotic!) show was created by one of my Craft Roulette friends, Irene Smith, and this was my very first time participating.

Card Chaos airs Mondays on YouTube at 6pm Central Time. Irene sets the theme ahead of time, and then she and a guest take turns creating a card in just 15 minutes. This week’s guest was Vicki Ruta from the UK, and the theme was Fun Fold.

Since I wanted something quick to put together, I decided to make another Panel Card—and I actually finished right at the 15-minute mark (whew!).

For my card, I used paper from the Spooky Sweet 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper pack. The adorable Dracula and the back sentiment came from the Spellbinders 13 Days of Craftoween Box. To finish it off, I added a few Shimmer Star Foam Stickers. I definitely would have added more embellishments if time allowed, but I think it turned out super cute as is. πŸ¦‡⭐

What I love most about Card Chaos is the challenge—it really pushes you to craft under pressure, and I had a blast. There are also Card Chaos Facebook and Instagram groups where participants can share their creations, which makes it even more fun to see everyone’s take on the theme.

If you’d like to try making this Panel Card Fun Fold, here are the measurements:

  • Card Base: 8 ½" x 5 ½", scored at 2" and 3 1/8" on both sides

  • Middle Panel: 5 ¼" x 2"

  • Side Panels: 5 ¼" x 1 ¾"

  • Optional Accent Panels: 5 ¼" x ⅞" (to layer on the sides of the middle panel)

  • Back Middle Panel (Basic White): 5 ¼" x 2" (perfect spot for your greetings)

You can also decorate the back of the card if you’d like to carry the design all the way around.

This challenge definitely stretched my creativity—and I can’t wait to play along again!

Floral Charm Panel Card – A Fall-Inspired Fun Fold

Today, I’m sharing a Panel Card I created using the Floral Charm Designer Series Paper on a Timid Tiger card base. The rich orange and burgundy tones instantly reminded me of fall—warm, cozy, and full of seasonal charm.

To bring everything together, I paired the paper with the Charming Day Bundle for both the sentiment and floral die cuts. The sentiment itself was cut with the Stylish Shapes Die Set, adding that perfect finishing touch.

One of the things I love about this Panel Card is how versatile it is—it stands up beautifully for display, yet folds flat for easy mailing.

Here are the measurements if you’d like to make one yourself:

  • Card Base: 8 ½" x 5 ½", scored at 2" and 3 1/8" on both sides

  • Middle Panel: 5 ¼" x 2"

  • Side Panels: 5 ¼" x 1 ¾"

  • Optional Accent Panels: 5 ¼" x ⅞" (to add to the sides of the middle panel)

  • Back Middle Panel (Basic White): 5 ¼" x 2" (perfect for writing your greetings)

You can also decorate the back of the card if you’d like to carry the design all the way around.

This fun fold is such an easy way to make a big statement. The bold fall colors, layered textures, and striking fold really make this card a standout piece. I hope you’ll give the Panel Card a try—it’s simple, fun, and so rewarding when you see it all come together!

Painterly Pears Band Stand Card

Band Stand Card – My First Try!

This week, I tried something new—a Band Stand Card, and I’m hooked!
It’s my first time making one, and I followed a wonderful YouTube tutorial by Ronda Wade. This fun fold not only opens up into a delightful standing display, but it also folds flat to fit perfectly into a standard medium envelope—practical and pretty!

For my design, I chose Mossy Meadow for the base and panel strips, pairing it with the Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper for a fresh, vibrant look. I used the Perfectly Pears Dies to cut the pears and flowers directly from the DSP, along with the crosshatch detail and label on the front. The sentiments came from the matching Perfectly Pears Stamp Set, tying the whole theme together beautifully.

The focal images are mounted on a Window Sheet panel, which adds such a fun floating effect. For the finishing touch, I added three coordinating Low-Profile Sparkle Dots—just the right amount of shine!

I was pleasantly surprised at how simple this card was to create, despite its intricate look. If you’ve been wanting to try a new fun fold, I definitely recommend giving the Band Stand Card a go—it’s easier than it looks and such a wow factor for the recipient.

Have you tried this fold before? Let me know—I’d love to see your take on it!

Craft Roulette Episode 279 – Kid’s Card for My Granddaughter

This week’s Craft Roulette challenge was a fun one! Episode 279 gave us the following parameters:

  • Project: Kid’s Card – Mine was made especially for my granddaughter.

  • Colors: Theater – I went with rich Theater Curtain Red and deep Black Theater Seats.

  • Element: Picture – My skunk is holding a little hand-drawn picture.

  • Random: 1/2 & 1/2 – Perfect for a skunk, with half black and half white fur!

This card is another example of one that wouldn’t have come to life without the spin of the Craft Roulette wheel. I also gave it a Fun Fold twist—it’s just a little different than a standard A2 card.

Card Details:

  • Base: Crumb Cake – 6 3/8" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"

  • Layer: Basic White – 5 1/4" x 4", cut with the Pattern of Friendship Die to add a striped texture

  • Accent Strip: Red – 5" x 1 3/4"

  • Sentiment: “Hello” cut from the current Paper Pumpkin Add-On Die Set, Circle of Seasons, mounted on Basic Black punched with the Modern Oval Punch

  • Focal Point: A skunk punch art piece from my stash of Card Candy made many years ago, now brought back to life!

To meet the “Picture” parameter, I added a tiny, hand-drawn image for the skunk to hold—it was such a charming little finishing touch.

Craft Roulette always sparks my creativity, and I love seeing where the random parameters take me each week.

πŸ“Ί Join us live for Craft Roulette on Friday evenings at 6:10 PM Central Time on YouTube—you never know what the wheel will come up with next!

Mystery Stamping Fun Fold Card!

πŸŽ¨ Mystery Stamping Fun Fold Card!

Happy Thursday, friends!
I’m so excited to share the card I created during a super fun Mystery Stamping Zoom with my Stampin’ Up! team this past Monday night. These virtual events are always a blast—we’re given a supply list ahead of time, then follow a series of “clues” during the event to assemble our cards. The best part? Seeing how uniquely everyone interprets the clues!

Here’s the card I made:

🌸 Fun Fold Design – I absolutely love this layout! It’s such a fun twist on a traditional card, and I’ll definitely be making more of them in the future.

🌼 Products Used:

  • Designer Series Paper: Floral Delight DSP – the colors and patterns are just so fresh and cheerful!

  • Cardstock Base: Garden Green – a perfect match to pull it all together.

  • Dies: The floral elements are from the Impressions Abloom Dies – aren’t they sweet?

  • Sentiment: I used the Encircled With Love Stamp Set, cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies for a clean layered look.

  • Embellishments: Two sparkly butterflies to finish it off with a little touch of magic! ✨πŸ¦‹

Here’s a peek at the finished card:

If you’ve never tried a mystery stamping event before, I highly recommend it—it’s a great way to stretch your creativity and enjoy the camaraderie of stamping together, even virtually.

Thanks for stopping by! Let me know in the comments if you'd like a tutorial for this fun fold. πŸ’¬πŸ’•

Floral Delight Fun Fold Card

Mystery Stamping Fun Fold Card – A Unique Creation!

I recently joined a super fun Mystery Stamping Zoom with some of my fellow Stampin’ Up! team members, and I just had to share the card I made! If you’ve never experienced Mystery Stamping before, let me give you a quick idea of how it works—it’s so much fun!

Before the event, our organizer shared a list of supplies and measurements so we could all prep ahead of time. Then, during the Zoom, we were given a series of clues to guide us through creating the card step by step—without knowing the final design. It's always such a blast to see how differently everyone's cards turn out, even though we start with the same instructions!

For my version, I chose to feature the beautiful Floral Delight Designer Series Paper. I paired it with a base of Old Olive and Lemon Lolly cardstock—such a fresh and happy color combination!

To decorate my card, I used floral elements from the Impressions Abloom Dies. The sentiment is from the versatile Simply Said Stamp Set, which I stamped and layered onto shapes from the Stylish Shapes Dies—my go-to for perfect sentiment layers!

I added a twine bow for a little rustic charm and finished it off with three yellow embellishments from the Low Profile Sparkle Dots pack. ✨

The best part? It’s a fun fold! A truly one-of-a-kind design that I can't wait to recreate. I’ll be sharing the measurements soon so you can make one too!

Stay tuned for a step-by-step post with all the details. Happy stamping, friends!

Fold Back Fun Fold Card Featuring the New Sunflower Embossing Folder

Fold Back Fun Fold Card Featuring the New Sunflower Embossing Folder

Coming July 1st to My Online Store – A Sneak Peek at Online Exclusives!

Today I'm sharing a beautiful Fold Back Fun Fold Card I created using several upcoming Stampin’ Up! Online Exclusives—available starting July 1st in my online store!

✨ The star of this card is the new Sunflower Embossing Folder. I colored the raised image with colored pencils, gently using the side of the lead to just scratch the surface. Then, I softened the lines with a standard eraser for a dreamy, watercolor-like texture.

🌻 The coordinating sentiment circle was created using one of the Spotlight On Nature Dies, stamped with "Hey" from the new Charming Day stamp set in Early Espresso Ink. I repeated the pencil-and-eraser technique on the circle to tie in that same soft feel.

🧡 The patterned paper on the side flap and envelope comes from the Woven Textures Designer Series Paper Pack, which adds such a lovely, subtle touch of texture and color. For a bit of shine, I added five gold dots from the Low Profile Embellishment Pack.

Card Base Details:

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock: 7-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 3-1/4" and 6-1/2"

  • Embossed Front Panel: 3" x 5-1/4"

  • Side Accent Strip: 3/4" x 5-1/4"

To create the fun fold, the right flap is folded back, and you can use any accent piece (like the sentiment circle) to hold the card closed by adhering it only to the right strip. Gently fold the flap back to reveal the inside!

I love how this card came together—it’s soft, dimensional, and full of sneak peeks! 🌻

πŸ‘‰ Be sure to check back on July 1st when these gorgeous new Online Exclusives launch!

Happy stamping,
Jean

A Matchbook Card with Heart For Craft Roulette Episode 271

Craft Roulette Challenge #271 – A Matchbook Card with Heart

Featuring Guests Amy’s Wares & her daughter Ry

I had so much fun participating in Craft Roulette Episode #271! This week's challenge was extra special with guest crafter Amy’s Wares and her daughter Ry joining the fun. As always, Craft Roulette provided a delightful set of creative parameters that really pushed me to think outside the box.

🎨 The Challenge Parameters:

  • Project: Matchbook Card

  • Colors: Park

  • Element: Key(s)

  • Random: Curved and Straight

Here’s how I interpreted the challenge:

🧷 My Project: A2 Matchbook Card

I created a Matchbook-style A2 card using Thick Very Vanilla Card Stock as the base. The base measures 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 4-3/4" and 10" to form the matchbook fold.

I added:

  • 4" x 4-1/2" panel of patterned designer paper to the main front.

  • 3/4" x 4" coordinating strip to the front flap.

  • 1/2" x 4" gold layer for a touch of elegance.

The paper I used came from a Recollections paper pad, a gift from a sweet friend. The natural greens and browns from the collection captured the “Park” color theme beautifully.

The music in the background meets the “Key(s)” element. And for the Random “Curved and Straight” parameter, I paired the clean, straight lines of the card base with the curved edges of a decorative die cut.

✨ The Sentiment

The sentiment was heat embossed in white on another piece of coordinating designer paper, then die cut using the label die from the Hugs Abloom Paper Pumpkin Add-On Die Set (Item #166238 – just $12!).

These exclusive Paper Pumpkin Add-On Dies are available every quarter and coordinate with three months of Paper Pumpkin kits—but they also stand on their own! I find myself reaching for them all the time.

If you’re a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can find the add-on die sets in my online store here.

πŸŽ₯ What is Craft Roulette?

Each Friday at 6:10 pm Central, the wheel spins live on YouTube to reveal a unique set of crafty parameters. It’s a fun, low-pressure way to try new things and connect with an amazing community of paper crafters.

Mystery Stamping Fun Fold Card

Mystery Stamping Fun Fold Card | Chics Paper Ink Team Event

Hi crafty friends!

I wanted to share a super fun card I created during a recent Mystery Stamping event held exclusively for our Chics Paper Ink Team. These events are always such a blast, and this time was no exception!

The final result? A Fun Fold Card that came together beautifully—and yes, I’ll definitely be making this fold again!

I used the Friends of the Ocean Designer Series Paper, which is so bright and pretty. It added just the right pop of color and pattern to the design. Paired with the coordinating Ocean Friends Die Set, this card really came to life. I love how these two products work together so seamlessly.

Both the DSP and die set are still available in the Last Chance Section of my Online Store—so if you’ve had your eye on them, now’s the time to grab them before they're gone!

To finish off the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Notes & Totes Stamp Set—it was just the perfect touch to complete the look.

This Mystery Stamping event was so much fun, and I always love the creative surprises that come from crafting without knowing the final layout ahead of time. It pushes us out of our comfort zones in the best way.

Here’s a peek at my finished card:

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
