Dragonfly Dreams, Crafting Forever Polished Stone Cards

Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing two more cards using the Polished Stone Technique I demonstrated last week for my Watch Me Wednesday Facebook Live Event. I have two more cards to show you this coming Wednesday, August 16th. You can view the videos anytime HERE. I am showing a new technique every other Wednesday. The next one is scheduled for August 23.

Both cards use a minimum amount of supplies. After making several Polished Stone card layers, I selected which stamp sets to use. Dragonfly Dreams, and Crafting Forever made the cut for these cards. I simply stamped the sentiments, and images using Memento Ink. The pretty black rhinestones on the Dragonfly card will be available when our Holiday Catalog goes live September 1, 2017.

Another Dragonfly Dream Card

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. My share today is another card made with the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set, and coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies. This has become one of my favorite bundles. You can combine the two together in a bundle, and save 10%. I made two cards using this bundle, and posted the other last week. I had already cut out a couple of different colors to see which one I liked best, and really liked both. Basically the same supplies, but they both look a little different. New Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Dreams Card

Have you seen the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle in the new Occasions Catalog? I think the stamp set, and matching Thinlets Dies are sure to be a favorite. The idea for this card came from the card pictured right on the Occasions Catalog. I changed it up a bit, and truly love the results. I usually don't add this many details on a card, but it is for a very special person whose birthday is this week.

I started with a Daffodil Delight card base. I stamped the dots design element stamp directly on the card base with Crushed Curry Ink, then immediately covered it with clear embossing powder. You can use embossing powder with most of our ink pads if you're quick enough. It really adds a nice detail. I used Crushed Curry Ink for the dragonfly as well, then cut her out with the matching die. The second layer is another die from the set. I cut it out with our Vellum Card Stock, then cut the body off to just leave the wings. The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark, then embossed with Pewter Embossing Powder. She is layered on one of the labels from the Lots of Labels Thinlets Dies that was embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I sponged just a little Sahara Sand Ink on the front. This was a fun, fun card to make!
