Craft Roulette Challenge #271 – A Matchbook Card with Heart
Featuring Guests Amy’s Wares & her daughter Ry
I had so much fun participating in Craft Roulette Episode #271! This week's challenge was extra special with guest crafter Amy’s Wares and her daughter Ry joining the fun. As always, Craft Roulette provided a delightful set of creative parameters that really pushed me to think outside the box.
๐จ The Challenge Parameters:
Project: Matchbook Card
Colors: Park
Element: Key(s)
Random: Curved and Straight
Here’s how I interpreted the challenge:
๐งท My Project: A2 Matchbook Card
I created a Matchbook-style A2 card using Thick Very Vanilla Card Stock as the base. The base measures 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 4-3/4" and 10" to form the matchbook fold.
I added:
A 4" x 4-1/2" panel of patterned designer paper to the main front.
A 3/4" x 4" coordinating strip to the front flap.
A 1/2" x 4" gold layer for a touch of elegance.
The paper I used came from a Recollections paper pad, a gift from a sweet friend. The natural greens and browns from the collection captured the “Park” color theme beautifully.
The music in the background meets the “Key(s)” element. And for the Random “Curved and Straight” parameter, I paired the clean, straight lines of the card base with the curved edges of a decorative die cut.
✨ The Sentiment
The sentiment was heat embossed in white on another piece of coordinating designer paper, then die cut using the label die from the Hugs Abloom Paper Pumpkin Add-On Die Set (Item #166238 – just $12!).
These exclusive Paper Pumpkin Add-On Dies are available every quarter and coordinate with three months of Paper Pumpkin kits—but they also stand on their own! I find myself reaching for them all the time.
If you’re a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can find the add-on die sets in my online store here.
