Easy Cut Away Birthday Card with Glow of Harvest DSP

 

I love a card design that looks elegant but is actually easy to make—and this Easy Cut Away Card is definitely a game changer!

For this card, I used a beautiful piece of the August Product of the Month, Glow of Harvest 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper. This paper has a gorgeous shimmer that adds just the right amount of elegance to a card.

A Simple Card with Lots of Details

My card base is Crumb Cake Cardstock, with a strip of Pecan Pie Cardstock across the bottom. I embossed the Pecan Pie layer using the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder, which will be available September 1st when the new Stampin’ Up! catalog goes live. I love the texture it adds!

For the focal point, I layered labels from the Sweet Words & Labels Dies and added my birthday sentiment from the Scalloped Blooms Stamp Set.

To finish the card, I fussy cut the leaves and acorns directly from the Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper and added them around the sentiment. The shimmer in the paper really makes those little details stand out.

I think this design would also make a beautiful masculine card. Just change the sentiment and you've got a great card for a birthday, thank-you, or other occasion.
