Craft Roulette Episode 286 – A Spooky Sweet Halloween Card for My Grandson

This week’s Craft Roulette challenge (Episode 286) gave us the following parameters:

  • Project: A Dude’s Card

  • Colors: Sunflower Field

  • Element: Bird(s)

  • Random: Soot

I created this card for my grandson, and it came together so easily with the Spooky Sweet Designer Series Paper. The colors I chose to represent the Sunflower Field theme were orange, green, and just a touch of pink. The little bird on the bottom is all dressed up for Trick or Treating, and there’s plenty of “soot” worked into the design!

The best part about this card is how much the designer paper did the work for me. The pack comes with a full scene, punch-out pieces, and tags—all ready to go. I added the critters and extra details right on top. The only stamping I did was the Happy Halloween sentiment on the inside.

Here are the details if you’d like to try it:

  • Card base: Basic Black, 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

  • Designer Paper: 4" x 12", scored at 4" and 8"

  • Added punch-out pieces and critters for a quick finish

I’m just about ready for Halloween when it comes to my cardmaking—how about you? Do you send Halloween cards?

If you haven’t checked out Craft Roulette yet, it’s such a fun challenge. Each week the wheel spins live on YouTube, Friday at 6:10 Central, and you never know what the parameters will be. It’s a great way to stretch your creativity!
