I’m always happy when I can take the beautiful pieces from a Paper Pumpkin kit and turn them into a card with a little something extra! Today I’m sharing a Panel Card I made using supplies from the September 2026 Aspens of Gratitude Paper Pumpkin Kit.
The gorgeous fall scenery on the kit’s cards does most of the work for you, making this card relatively simple to create while still having plenty of visual interest.
Creating the Card Base
I started with a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock measuring 6 3/4" x 4 1/2".
Score the card base at:
- 1 1/8"
- 2 1/4"
- 4 1/2"
- 5 5/8"
Fold along the score lines to create the panels.
Creating the Front Panels
I took one of the horizontal design cards from the Aspens of Gratitude Paper Pumpkin Kit and cut it in half, leaving me with a piece measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
From the left side, I cut off 7/8", and then another 7/8". Turn the piece around and repeat the process from the right side.
This leaves you with three sections of the beautiful patterned card. I adhered the two outside pieces to the corresponding panels on my Crumb Cake card base, creating the pretty panel-card effect.
Finishing the Back
For the middle section on the back of the card, I used the white card back from the kit and cut it to 2" x 4 1/4".
I also added strips of Moonlight Flora Designer Series Paper, cut to 7/8" x 4 1/4".
These DSP strips are completely optional, but I like the extra bit of pattern they add to the back of the card.
Adding the Embellishments
For a little extra dimension, I added three birds from the now-retired Dragonflies & Birds Embellishments.
But don't worry if you don't have those! The beautiful gold embellishments included in the Aspens of Gratitude Paper Pumpkin Kit would be absolutely perfect on this card.
I love how the gold accents complement the warm fall colors and add just a touch of sparkle.
