Easy 2,4,6,8 Treat Bags for Any Occasion

I made these sweet little treat bags for the participants in my recent class, and they coordinated perfectly with the projects we created together!

For the bag, I chose a beautiful pattern from the Bloom Boutique Specialty Designer Series Paper because it matched our class projects so well. The butterfly embellishment is made with the All Aflutter Bundle, stamped in Golden Glow for a subtle tone-on-tone look. The greeting comes from the Banner Sayings stamp set, and I used one of the Scalloped Blooms Dies to create the folded-over closure at the top. It's glued on the back and secured in the front with a Velcro dot.

One of my favorite little details is the white doodling around the scalloped edge! I used the new White Gel Pens (Item #166642). They come in a pack of two for just $9.00, and they're perfect for adding highlights, faux stitching, doodles, and other fun accents to your paper crafting projects.

These treat bags are so quick and easy to make! Years ago, we called this the 2,4,6,8 Bag, and it's still one of my favorite designs because you can make it for any season or any reason.

Measurements

  • Start with an 8½" x 6" piece of cardstock or Designer Series Paper.
  • Score on the long side at:
    • 2"
    • 4"
    • 6"
    • 8"
  • Score the short side at 2" for the bottom.
  • Cut up each vertical score line to the 2" score line.
  • Remove the small ½" bottom tab up to the score line.
  • Assemble the bag, fold over the scalloped topper, and add a Velcro dot for the closure.

I made a YouTube tutorial on this bag design a few years ago, and I'll add the link below if you'd like to see it come together step by step.

I hope this simple treat bag inspires you to make a few of your own! They're perfect for party favors, classroom treats, thank-you gifts, holiday goodies, or happy mail. If you give this easy design a try, I'd love to hear about it in the comments!
