Who doesn’t love a little Dolly Parton sparkle? 💕✨
I had so much fun creating this card featuring our dear Dolly for the Mini Slimline Instagram Hop! If you’ve never made a mini slimline card before, this is such a fun size to work with.
So, What Exactly Is a Mini Slimline Card?
There are a couple of ways to create this size. Some of us like to take a piece of 6" x 6" cardstock and fold it in half, while others use a 6" x 7" piece of cardstock and fold it.
Either way, the finished cards fit beautifully into a 3.75" x 6.5" envelope. It’s a long, skinny card that gives you plenty of room to create without feeling like you need to fill a huge canvas. I think you’ll agree—it’s a really fun size!
Creating My Dolly Card
For my card, I used a digital image of Dolly created by Mary Gunn, the host of Craft Roulette. Mary creates her own artwork and makes images available to Channel Members. What a great perk!
I colored Dolly using Stampin' Blends, then added Crisp Cantaloupe Shimmer Brush to her outfit. Because, of course, Dolly has to sparkle! ✨
The card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, which I covered with a pretty piece of paper from the Bloom Boutique Designer Series Paper.
For the sentiment, I used one from the Sweet Words & Labels Stamp Set. And to finish everything off, I added a few of the 2026–2028 In Color Butterflies. They were the perfect little finishing touch!
I just love how this card came together. The mini slimline format gives Dolly plenty of room to shine, and the shimmer makes her outfit feel especially appropriate for the queen of sparkle herself!
