Craft Roulette Episode 312 – Slimline Birthday Card Submission

I had such a great time creating my submission for Craft Roulette Episode 312! This week’s parameters inspired a cheerful Slimline Card, and it all came together beautifully.

For my base, I used Thick Basic White cardstock, cut to 7" x 8" and scored at 3 1/2" to form the slimline shape. The “Colors – Insect” parameter immediately made me think of the Cute As A Bug Designer Series Paper, which was absolutely perfect for this challenge. I fussy cut several adorable insects and leaves from the DSP to decorate the front of the card, adding lots of playful detail.

The “Element – April” prompt was easy to incorporate, since this card is headed to a dear friend with an April birthday! I used a sentiment from the Sweet Bugs Stamp Set, which fit the theme wonderfully.

For the “Random – In The Corner” requirement, I added lovely frilly die-cut corners to the bottom of the card, giving it a soft, delicate touch. I also embellished with the Ladybug Garden Epoxy Shapes, tucking them into the corners as well to highlight the prompt even more.

This card was such a joy to make—so whimsical, bright, and perfect for spring. Craft Roulette always challenges me to think outside the box, and Episode 312 was no exception.

If you haven’t watched yet, be sure to catch Craft Roulette on YouTube on Friday evenings at 6:10 PM Central Time. It’s a unique, creative, and inspiring paper-crafting show that sparks fresh ideas every single week!
