Craft Roulette Episode 287 – Saying Hi with Pennants & Sunshine

This week’s Craft Roulette challenge (Episode 287) was so much fun! The parameters were:

  • Project: Saying Hi

  • Colors: Crisp

  • Element: Sun

  • Random: Pennants

For my card, I used the Party Alphabet Dies to cut out a bold Cherry Cobbler “Hi.” I just love the stitched detail on these dies, and their size makes them perfect for a strong focal point.

To create my Crisp color palette, I pulled from the gorgeous Fall leaf clusters in red, orange, and yellow—leftovers from my September Fall For Toile Paper Pumpkin Kit. They really brought that warm seasonal feel.

The Daffodil Delight card base and coordinating designer paper layer were both cut with the Party Banners Dies to satisfy the Pennants parameter. (Tip: to cut a folding card with your dies, place the top card fold just beneath the edge of the die so the fold remains intact!)

For the Sun element, I added it to the inside of the card alongside the sentiment. I also had an extra matching envelope from the Paper Pumpkin kit—perfect for completing the look.

This was such a fun card to create! Craft Roulette airs Friday evenings at 6:10 Central Time—join us and see what you can come up with, too!

Sweet & Simple CASE-ing Tuesday #532 with Paper Pumpkin

This week I joined in the fun over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook group, using their Sketch #532 as inspiration. One of the things I love about this challenge group is that they always include measurements with their sketches—it makes creating so much easier!

For my take on the sketch, I pulled out my September Fall For Toile Paper Pumpkin Kit. The six 1 1/2" squares came from one of the linen card bases that I had already cut into for another project. I stamped with four images from this kit, and added in two more from a past Paper Pumpkin kit. The Cajun Craze Ink included this month was perfect for the fall theme.

The card base, envelope, and sentiment are also from the kit. To finish it off, I added a little Linen Thread and three gold embellishments for just the right touch.

This card really reflects my Sweet & Simple signature style, and once again shows how versatile the Paper Pumpkin kits are for creating fun alternative projects.

Fall For Toile Card For Card Chaos Episode 13

✨ Card Chaos Live, Episode 13 ✨

This week’s challenge was all about creating an A7 Card (5" x 7")—and let me tell you, I had just seconds to sparefinishing mine! ⏱️

For my design, I used stamps, ink, embellishments, and ribbon from this month’s Fall For Toile Paper Pumpkin Kit. 💚✂️ I love how it turned out—and I can’t wait to see what you create too!

Here’s what I used:

  • 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" piece of Darling Duckling card stock, embossed with the Thoughtful Leaves Embossing Folder (smooth side).

  • white panel from one of the Paper Pumpkin card bases, cut with the largest Branching Out Label Die.

  • The rest of the pieces came right from the kit.

I wanted this card to celebrate Fall since today is the first day of Autumn, which just happens to be my favorite season! 🍂🍁

👉 Don’t forget—you can catch Card Chaos Live every Monday at 6pm CT on Irene Smith’s YouTube channel. Irene and her guest have just 15 minutes to create a card, and if you play along, you can share your project on the Card Chaos Facebook page. Two Sweet Cards Using Leftovers from the July Paper Pumpkin Kit!

Two Sweet Cards Using Leftovers from the July Paper Pumpkin Kit! 🍓🐭

One of my favorite things about Paper Pumpkin kits is how far the supplies can stretch—and today I'm sharing the last two cards I created using leftovers from the Sweeter With You July Kit.

Card One: Storybook Charm
This card features elements from the Storybook Friends 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper Pack (still available in the Online Exclusives section of my store—grab it while you can!). I started by stamping the background with two of the floral stamps from the Paper Pumpkin kit to give it a soft, whimsical base.

To mimic one of the original kit designs, I cut the gingham strawberry card base in half and layered it behind a stamped strawberry centerpiece. The sweet little mouse and leaf sprig—both die cuts from the Storybook Friends paper—complete the scene for a playful, storybook-inspired finish.

Card Two: Simply Sweet
For my second card, I featured another darling creature from the Storybook Friends paper pack. I stamped one of the sentiments from the Sweeter With You kit onto my last leftover scalloped rectangle die cut, then popped up the adorable image on Stampin’ Dimensionals for a bit of dimension and charm. A blue floral sprig from the same paper pack added a perfect finishing touch.

The soft background comes from the Timeless Plaid 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Pack—also available now in the Online Exclusives section of my online store.

Now that I’ve used up every last piece from the kit, I still have the marvelous Sweeter With You stamp set to enjoy for future projects. And I’m already looking forward to the August Paper Pumpkin KitFarmhouse Florals, which comes with TWO stamp sets! 🌸

Ghirardelli Treat Holder – A Sweet Paper Pumpkin Project

🎁 Ghirardelli Treat Holder – A Sweet Paper Pumpkin Project

I had so much fun creating sweet little Ghirardelli Treat Holders as gifts for my Card Making Class attendees. For this version, I used a sentiment stamp from the July Paper Pumpkin Kit – Sweeter With You. The "You're the sweetest" message was a perfect match for my strawberry-themed design!

I happened to have a piece of designer series paper in my stash with strawberries on it that was exactly the right size—don't you love when that happens? 🍓

The Circle of Season Add-On Die Set, available for purchase if you're a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, was the perfect companion. I used:

  • The circle die for the sentiment, stamped in Real Red Ink.

  • The strawberry die and the little blossoms for fun, summery accents.

  • I finished the flowers with Yellow gems from the Glossy Dots Assortment—so cheerful!

  • A bit of leftover ribbon from my stash brought everything together.

These treat holders are so versatile—perfect for any season, any reason! You can swap out paper, colors, and sentiments for birthdays, holidays, thank-yous, or just-because gifts.

✂️ Dimensions & Instructions (Click Here for printable PDF)

You’ll need:

  • 3" x 6" piece of cardstock or patterned paper

  • Bone folder

  • Hole punch

  • Adhesive (glue dots or tape runner)

  • Ribbon or twine (approx. 12")

  • One Ghirardelli Square Chocolate

  • Stamps, die cuts, embellishments of your choice

Instructions:

  1. Score your 3" x 6" cardstock at:

    • 2 7/8"

    • 3 1/8"

  2. Burnish and fold on the score lines to form a narrow spine.

  3. Punch holes on the right-hand flap:

    • 3/4" from the top and bottom edges

    • 1/4" in from the right edge

  4. Adhere a Ghirardelli Square Chocolate to the inside back using a glue dot or other strong adhesive.

  5. Thread ribbon or twine through the holes from back to front, and tie a bow on the front.

  6. Decorate with die cuts, sentiments, and embellishments to match your theme!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’re inspired to make your own little treat holders. They're a sweet surprise that shows you care. 💌

Happy Crafting!

August 2024 Time For Cake Paper Pumpkin Alternate For Craft Roulette Episode 232

I made this card following the parameters set from Craft Roulette, Episode #232 featuring Catherine Pooler as the guest. You can see it on YouTube HERE. I used one of the card designs from the August 2024 Time For Cake Paper Pumpkin Kit. All I had to do was add the French Bulletin Board design to the bottom, and some beads. I covered the balloon on the upper right hand side with beads for that parameter. Otherwise, I followed the directions. and used the supplies from the kit to make the card.

These were the parameters:

    1. Project - French Bulletin Board

    2. Colors - Winter Desert

    3. Element - Balloons

    4. Random - Beads

June 2024 Life Is Sweet Paper Pumpkin Drink Mix Wrapper

Today's project is a drink mix wrapper made with a couple of products from the June 2024, Life Is Sweet Paper Pumpkin Kit. The lemon, stamped sentiment, ink, and twine came from the kit.

This wrapper is cased from a YouTube Video by Chris Slogar of Buckeye Inklings. I had to change the measurements to fit my drink mix.

The Lemon Lolly base is 2" x 7", scored and folded up at 1 1/2", and punched with the retired Tag Topper Punch. The Summer Splash Designer Series Paper is 3" x 5", scored at 1 3/8", and 3 5/8". It's a bit bigger than the base to allow room for the drink mix. You only adhere the paper to the folded flap, and the back so that it forms a pocket. I added a couple of Bough Punched pieces to the front with glue dots, then added the lemon on Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment is also raised on Mini Dimensional's. I added three Summer Splash gems for a bit more pizzazz. It's a sweet, easy project.

Thanks for joining me today!

April 2024 Delicate Wings Paper Pumpkin Home Decor Frame

I made this lovely home decor frame using supplies from this month's Delicate Wings Paper Pumpkin kit. The kit came with supplies for 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs. Here are the cards assembled as instructed.

There are now Add-On Die sets that coordinate with 3 months of Paper Pumpkin Kits. The dies are not required to make the kits, but they sure are nice. These dies are only available to Paper Pumpkin Subscribers. The butterfly from the Thanks & Beyond cuts out many of the images from the kit. I used it to cut two of images from one of the card panels, as well as an additional gold one to add to my frame. I also used the love, and leaf sentiment from the Love Of Spring Set.

Measurements

Basic Beige Base: 8" x 8"
Lost Lagoon Layer: 3-1/2" x 3-1/2"
Basic Black Layer: 3-1/4" x 3-1/4"
Top Layer (Cut from Paper Pumpkin Cards): 3" x 3"

July 2023 Fun In The Sun Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

I've already shared a couple of alternative cards for the July 2023, Fun In The Sun Paper Pumpkin Kit. You can see the Fold Back Cards I made HERE.

Today I am sharing a few alternatives. All I changed on the card above was the sentiment, and the addition of the number 3. I used a past Paper Pumpkin sentiment, and the #3 was from the Alphabest Stamp Set. I stamped them both in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. This card was made using the instructions, and the rest of the pieces as intended.

I had used the main panels for the other alternatives I made so I had the card base above leftover. I made the palm tree using my Scan 'n Cut Machine. The sun, and sea stars were stamped on Basic White, and also cut out with my machine. The little shell, and crab are from the kit. I used the A Grand Kid Stamp Set to stamp the sentiments. The Happy Birthday is cut out using the Cloud Punch. I embossed the additional Azure Afternoon  panel using one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders.

July 2023 Fun In The Sun Paper Pumpkin Alternative Fold Back Cards

Today I have two Fold Back Cards using products from the July 2023 Fun In The Sun Paper Pumpkin Kit along with some additional card stock, and stamps from my stash. The Fold Back Card Design was inspired by Melinda Hart, and Patty Bennett.

I made a couple of extra images on my Scan 'n Cut by cutting out more suns, and sea stars using the stamps from the kit. The palm trees were included in my library.

The shells, and happy birthday sentiments are from Circle Sayings. The cute flip flops, and lobster are stamps from On The Beach all the way back from 2002. I cut one of the envelopes for the striped paper on the card above, and the strip layers for both cards. I also added Wink of Stella to both of the circles on the seashells.

Fold Back Card Measurements

Card Base: 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" scored at 3 1/4", and 6 1/2"
Strip Layer: 7/8" x 5 1/4"
Inside Layer: 3" x 5 1/4" (Basic White Cardstock)
2 3/8" Circle Punch

June 2023 Welcome Inn Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Today I am featuring alternatives for the June 2023, Welcome Inn Paper Pumpkin Kit. The kit included supplies for 9 cards - 3 each of 3 designs. Kits always come with an exclusive stamp set, a mini ink cube, embellishments, and adhesives.

These cards were lovely as is, and I made several following the instructions. I also made a few alternatives by adding a different sentiment, or changing things slightly.

I made this card design as directed, but changed the sentiment, and added punch outs. The Dog, and Cat Punches are retired, but any other silhouette would work.

I cut one of the card bases in half for the second set of cards. I used a sentiment from my Paper Pumpkin stamp stash to the top left card, and cut out an extra layer using the largest Countryside Corner Die cut with Night of Navy. I made a Shaker Card for the second card by adding a piece of our Window Sheet plastic behind the frame that came in the kit.

I sponged some inks on two of the next card designs, and added a punch out from the Sail Boat Punch. Click my Facebook Reel  HERE to see how I made the sun background.

Here's a closer look at the July 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Fun In The Sun.
