Looking for an easy way to package handmade cards as a gift? This simple Card Folder is the perfect solution! I made mine using one of the beautiful card fronts from the October 2026 Noel Greetings Paper Pumpkin Kit, and I love how easily it came together.
The best part? It takes only a minimal amount of supplies, and you can customize it for any season or occasion. Fill it with handmade cards and envelopes, tie it closed with ribbon, and you have a thoughtful, handmade gift that any card lover would appreciate!

How to Make the Card Folder
Be sure to watch my YouTube video here to see the measurements and how I put this easy project together!
Score your card stock. Start with an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. With the card stock in landscape orientation, score at 5 1/2". Turn the card stock to the vertical orientation and score at 2".
Create the bottom flaps. Cut a wedge from the middle of the bottom section, cutting up to the 2" score line. This creates the two flaps that form the bottom of your folder.
Secure the bottom. You can glue down the outside edges of the two flaps to create the bottom of your folder. Alternatively, use ribbon to hold the folder closed.
Add the ribbon. If you prefer the ribbon closure, punch four holes. Punch one hole in the middle of each side, then close the folder and punch a hole over the folded edge, about 3/8" in from the edge. Thread your ribbon through the holes and tie it into a bow. I used approximately 30" of ribbon for my folder.
Decorate the front. Layer your Paper Pumpkin card front onto a piece of Basic Beige Card Stock measuring 4 1/2" x 5 3/4". I chose Basic Beige to coordinate beautifully with the colors in the Noel Greetings Paper Pumpkin Kit. Attach the layered card front to the outside of your folder.
How Many Cards Will It Hold?
This folder holds approximately four handmade cards and envelopes when the cards have dimensional embellishments. If your cards are flatter, you can fit even more inside!
I love projects like this because they are practical, pretty, and easy to make. You don't need a lot of supplies or complicated instructions to create something special.
Make One for Any Season or Reason!
Use a Christmas card front for holiday gifting, floral paper for a birthday, or pretty patterned paper for an everyday thank-you gift. The possibilities are endless!
Fill your folder with handmade cards, add a pretty ribbon, and give someone a gift made with love. It's such an easy project, and I hope you'll give it a try!
