Two Quick Cards with the Loveliest Tree Bundle

Ihad a little crafty time this week and needed to replenish my stash with a couple of versatile cards—one for a Fall birthday and one for a sympathy card. The Loveliest Tree Stamp Set and matching dies turned out to be the perfect choice! This set includes such timeless sentiments—Birthday Wishes, With Sympathy, Congratulations, and Thank You—making it a real go-to.

🍂 Fall Birthday Card

Warm autumn tones make this birthday card shine!

For the birthday card, I started with an A2 Timid Tiger card base. From there:

• Layer 1: Basic Black, cut to 5 1/4" x 4"

• Layer 2: Black & White Leaves DSP, ink-blended with Darling Duckling, Pecan Pie, and Timid Tiger using blending brushes. This technique is a great way to customize paper and give it a beautiful depth of color. (Measures 5 1/8" x 3 7/8".)

• Layer 3: Basic Black at 4 1/8" x 2 5/8"

• Sentiment Panel: Very Vanilla at 4" x 2 1/2", stamped with the birthday sentiment.

I stamped the tree in Memento Black on Very Vanilla, then softly blended in the same fall tones before cutting it out with the coordinating die. To finish, I wrapped Linen Thread around the panel and added three tiny birds from the Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies & Birds embellishments—one of my absolute favorites!

🌿 Sympathy Card

Soft, natural tones for a calming sympathy card.

For the sympathy card, I kept the palette soft and soothing:

• Card Base: A2 Misty Moonlight

• Layer 1: Basic White, 5 1/4" x 4"

• Layer 2: Crumb Cake, 5" x 3 3/4", embossed with the Birch Embossing Folder

• Stamped Panel: A 3 1/4" x 3 3/4" piece of Country Woods DSP, stamped directly with the tree in Misty Moonlight Ink

I tied some Linen Thread across the top layers, adding a simple, natural touch that works perfectly with the tree imagery.

Birthday or Sympathy—which one speaks to you more?

Both of these came together fairly quickly, which makes them great for replenishing the stash when you need cards on hand.

✨ Now the hard part—which one is your favorite: the warm Fall birthday card or the soft sympathy card?

POSITIVE THOUGHTS SYMPATHY CARD

Hello, and welcome! I used the pretty Positive Thoughts Stamp Set along with the coordinating Nature's Thoughts Dies to make this card. The card base is Thick Whisper White. I embossed the next layer which is Seaside Spray with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. This kept the whole subtle nature of the card nicely. The next Whisper White layer with the sentiment was cut with one of the Nature's Thought Dies. I stamped one of the flowers from the set right on this layer using So Saffron Ink. The greenery, butterfly, and ornamental strip were also cut with dies from the Nature's Thoughts Dies. This card was fairly easy to make although the dies make it so much more intricate looking.

Thick Whisper White Card Base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Seaside Spray Card Layer: 5 1/4" x 4"

Paper: Thick Whisper White, Seaside Spray

Ink: Black Memento, Highland Heather, So Saffron, Soft Seafoam

Bird Ballad Sympathy Card

Today's card features a piece of the beautiful Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. This paper can pretty much stand on it's own. I did stamp, and cut out one of the small flowers from the matching Free As A Bird Stamp Set. It's on the top left hand corner of the 2nd to smallest Stitched Nested Labels Dies. The sentiment is from one of my all time favorite sets called Itty Bitty Greetings. I added a small piece of our 3/8" Scalloped Lace Trim, along with a leaf punched out from a piece of the lovely Old Olive Vellum from Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock.

I colored the small blossom with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend. In the picture above you can also see the pretty tiny Pearl Basic Jewels that I added to the center of a few of the blossoms. I colored them with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend as well.

Directions To Create Today's Card

•  Cut a piece of Bermuda Bay 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", then score, and fold in half at 4 1/4".
•  Cut a piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series paper 4 7/8" x 3 5/8".
•  Cut a piece of Basic Black Card Stock 5 1/8" x 3 7/8". Adhere the Designer paper to this layer, then              
   to the front of the card.
•  Stamp the smallest blossom from the Free As A Bird Stamp Set in Memento Ink onto a small scrap
   of Whisper White. Color the middle with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend, then cut it out
   by hand. Set aside.
•  Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Bermuda Bay, then cut out with the 2nd to smallest Nested
   Label Die. Set aside.
•  Add a 3" piece of the Scalloped Lace Trim to right hand side of label. Punch a leaf out of the Old
   Olive Vellum using the Leaf Punch, then glue to the very back of the label. Add Stampin'
   Dimensionals to the label, and add to the front of the card. Pop the small blossom on a Dimensional
   and add to the upper left hand side of label.
•  Color the desired amount of Pearl Basic Jewels with the Dark Daffodil Delight Blend, then add to
   the card.
•  I stamped the envelope with the leaf from the stamp set on the envelope, and again to a piece of
   Whisper White for the inside of the card.

Happy Tails Dog Sympathy Card

Hello Stampers! Unfortunately I needed to make a sympathy card for some friends that lost their four legged child recently. I know this card will mean a lot to them. I used the Happy Tails Stamp Set along with the matching Dog Builder Punch.

I started with a piece of designer paper from our Wood Textures pack. It is 6 x 6, and includes many shades of realistic looking wood grains. The stamped card layer, and the Cherry Cobbler layer were both cut out with a Rectangle Stitched Framelits. I used the largest one on a piece of Whisper White for the inside as well.  I embossed the heart directly onto the paper with one of the dies from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits set. I stamped the images, and sentiment directly on this layer with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and Cherry Cobbler Ink. I finished off the Cherry Cobbler dog collar with one of the Silver Metallic Pearls.

Hello, and welcome! Although this card will be sent for a sad reason, I know the recipient will appreciate it. It is certainly heartfelt.

Price: $31.50 I started out with an 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of Sahara Sand Card Stock. It is scored, and folded in half. I then ran it through the Big Shot with the Subtle Embossing Folder. The Mossy Meadow layer is cut out with the 4 3/4" x 3 3/8" Rectangle Stitched Framelit Die. The Wood Grain Designer Paper hearts were cut out with framelits from the Be Mine Stitched Dies. I stamped the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Momento Ink directly on the designer paper, then used the small heart die to cut it out. I folded and attached a piece of Basic Black 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon on the heart, then popped it up using Stampin' Dimensionals. The dog image, and collar were also stamped in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink. The dog's spots are Whisper White Craft Ink. I punched it out, and popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals also.  The Washi Tape is from my stash.
