Cute As A Bug Card

Sometimes the cutest cards really do all the work for you—and this one is proof! 💛

For this sweet and simple card, I started with one of the 4" x 6" cutouts from the Cute As A Bug Designer Series Paper Pack. I don’t usually create cards in this size, but the panel was just too adorable to trim down. I wanted every bit of that cuteness to shine!

To complement the panel, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Sweet Bugs Stamp Set using Basic White Embossing Powder on a strip of Basic Black. That crisp white embossing really pops against the black and ties in beautifully with the bold outlines in the designer paper. The panel was mounted onto a 4 1/8" x 6 1/8" piece of Basic Black, giving it a nice frame and a little extra drama.

The card base is Thick Basic White, cut to 6 1/4" x 4 1/2", which makes this a 4 Bar Card. While this isn’t a size I normally use, it was the perfect solution to keep that cute panel intact—no sacrificing details here!

To add a little texture, I wrapped a piece of natural color twine across the top. The sentiment was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals for just a touch of dimension. And of course, I couldn’t resist finishing it off by coloring the ladybug’s wings with Wink Of Stella for a subtle sparkle.

This card came together so easily, and that’s a great reminder that card making doesn’t have to be hard. Sometimes letting a beautiful designer paper panel take center stage is all you need. Simple, sweet, and totally worth it—just like this adorable card. 🐞✨

Card Chaos – September 15th | 15 Minute Card Challenge

This week’s Card Chaos challenge was so much fun! The Card Chaos Crew voted to incorporate Texture into our cards, and I loved the direction it pushed me in.

For my card, I started with a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper, which I embossed using the retired Subtle Embossing Folder. That little touch of texture makes such a big difference! I mounted the panel on a classic A2 Night of Navy card base.

Next, I added a Pearlized Doily for a touch of shine, and layered on a Night of Navy circle punched with the 2 3/8" Circle Punch. For the sentiment, I used Peace on Earth, stamping with VersaMark Ink and heat embossing with Basic White Embossing Powder. Every time I heat emboss, I’m reminded just how magical it looks—I really need to do it more often!

To finish, I added a few Basic Rhinestone Embellishments for some sparkle. ✨

Card Chaos is hosted by Irene Smith and airs live on YouTube every Monday at 6pm Central Time. The challenge is to see if you can create a card in just 15 minutes! Whether you play along or just watch, it’s always inspiring to see the creative process unfold.

Tricks & Treats Sneak Peek

Seems a bit early to be posting Halloween projects, but it will be here before we know it! The Tricks & Treats Bundle is full of new products in the upcoming September-December 2023 Mini Catalog. It will be available in my Online Store September 6th.

The Trick & Treats Stamp Set has 12 photopolymer stamps, and the die set has 15 dies. It comes with a large die to cut out the bag that measures 3" x 4" x 1" when finished. Although it is a Halloween Set, there are a couple of dies that can be used for any season, any reason. The bag die is one of them.

I used retired designer papers for my bags this time. They are going to neighbors so I know they won't care about the paper design.

I copied a sample straight from the new catalog for this bag. The moon is a piece of Vellum Card Stock cut out with a 2 3/8" Circle Punch. I used a Mini Blending Brush to add some Daffodil Delight Ink on the edge. The little ghost was stamped with VersaMark, then embossed with White Heat Embossing Powder. The Boo, and Haunted House are included with the die set. It really is a must have.

Don't forget about the Kits Sale that is going on during the month of August:

Save up to 30% on amazing kits from the Kits Collection by Stampin' Up! until August 31st, or while supplies last. (Does not include Paper Pumpkin kits).

Thanks for joining me today!

Embossed Resist Shaded Summer Card - Craft Roulette #142

Hello, and welcome! I created this card for Craft Roulette Episode #142. I used the Shaded Summer Stamp Set from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. The background was made by stamping the images using VersaMark Ink on Basic White Card Stock, then adding White Embossing Powder. I then used our Blending Brushes to add Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, and Melon Mambo. The embossed flowers resist the ink, and make a pretty effect.

You can watch the replay HERE

The parameters for this week were:

1. Card With A Tag

2. Blue Green, Plus Two

3. Best Friends

4. Stamped Background

The embossed resist background isn't hard to make. Splitcoast Stampers has a good tutorial HERE. I hope you will give it a try!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Stampin' Up! Daisy Lane Card

Hello, and welcome! I made today's card with the sweet Daisy Lane Stamp Set. I paired it with the Gingham Checks side of the Seaside Spray 2019-2021 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper. The small middle strip is the other side of that paper.

First I stamped the large daisy twice, and the medium one once on our Vellum Cardstock using VersaMark Ink. I heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder, then colored the centers with the Dark Pineapple Punch Stampin' Blend Marker. I punched them out with the regular and Medium Daisy punches. I used the Leaf Punch to punch out the two leaves using a scrap of the Old Olive Perennial Essence Vellum. I used Crumb Cake Ink to stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White, and cut it out with one of the Stitched Labels Dies. Finally, I added a piece of Pineapple Punch Grosgrain Ribbon, and 3 dots from the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots.

Card Measurements:

Crumb Cake Card Base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"

Whisper White Inside Card Layer: 5 1/4" x 4"
